Ask a Brown Girl

Liz yells at you about racism and explains (to the best of her ability) why things are offensive.
Expected R-rating or potentially triggering content. If you're not uncomfortable, I'm doing it wrong.

Thorwn with Great Force - Classics we Won't Finish

There are "classics of SF - "Dune" "Foundation" "Frankenstein"
Which ones are better left on the shelf?
Which genre classics aren't that much fun to read today, and why?

  • Beth Mitcham

Mirror Charades Against Humanities

Charades... with a CAH twist! When it's your turn to perform, pick 5 white chards, pick one, and act it out for for your mirror.

Mirror Charades is just like charades - but the person who knows the clue can’t be seen by the guessers, and the person who’s acting it out doesn’t know what they’re trying to clue. Of course, they can’t talk to each other, either. Chaos ensues.

Future What?

What technologies are coming up that will have a profound social impact and what will those impacts and technologies be?

  • Ari Goldstein

Super Powers vs. Reality

According to science, when Sue Storm of Violet turns invisible, she would also go blind. The Flash can't disappear from a room any more than a Ferrari can vanish without "burning rubber," not enough traction. If Steve Austin tried to lift one end of a car, he would merely crush his spine. What superpowers DO work in the real world

  • Dave Howell

Pen Addiction

  • Douglas Beal

Needs tables for writing

Radio Play

This year the Foolscap Radio Play is trying something new: an anthology of shorts instead of one big play. Come on out and try – there will be many more chances to take part this year, and a wide variety of roles, as our stories range from Sherlock Holmes Victoriana to far-future space opera.
Casting will be by our usual open-audition, no-one-guaranteed-anything, anyone-could-be-a-star! process, with a public audition in the afternoon, and then a public performance in the evening after a single rehearsal.
We are proud to be presenting Vonda McIntyre’s “Adventure of the Field Theorems”, L. Sprague de Camp’s “Nothing in the Rules”, and a Buck Godot story from past Foolscap goh Phil Foglio.

Improv Micropanels

What is the statue of limitations on spoilers (or is there one)? Whose responsibility is spoiler avoidance? Are there particular works that go better with foreknowledge, or that absolutely must not be spoiled

  • ELIZABETH Adams
